The Wild exceeded expectations in their first season of play.  The first year expansion team finished last in the Northwest Division, but amassed 68 points, including 25 wins under Jacques Lemaire.  Marian Gaborik led the team with 18 goals in the regular season.  The summer has been busy for GM Doug Risebrough; he signed free agents Andrew Brunette, Dwayne Roloson, Mike Crowley, and re-signed a whole bunch of players.  With a few good roster moves, the Wild could land a playoff spot as early as 02-03.
