The Montreal Canadiens are a franchise in rapid descent.  Lots of history surrounds this franchise; but the Habs have been sinking lower and lower over the last five years.  And to make matters worse, Saku Koivu is now out of the lineup.  The team is trying to build on the youth in their organization.   Their goaltending is in good hands, at least.  Veteran Jeff Hackett is backed up by two blossoming goaltenders, Jose Theodore and Mathieu Garon.  They traded away Trevor Linden to the Capitals, but got Jan Bulis and Richard Zednik in return.  This franchise still has a couple more seasons before they can make the postseason, but as that cliché goes, "Every dark cloud has a silver lining."
