The Predators have improved since their inception in 98-99.  Under coach Barry Trotz, Nashville should be one of the teams to make the playoffs in 01-02.  They have a solid core of youngsters (Legwand, Vokoun, Hartnell) plus some great goaltending, especially rising Czech netminder Vokoun.  Nashville also picked up Stu Grimson to add a tough guy to the roster.  The hometown fans in Music City have sold out almost every home game; the franchise has succeeded in bringing the NHL to a state that had minimal hockey exposure and hockey knowledge.  I predict that Nashville will make the playoffs in 2002; they've got all the tools to do so.
