The Flyers are another powerful team in the Eastern Conference.  Their goaltending is superb, with rookie standout Roman Cechmanek and former rookie standout Brian Boucher; and their defense is decent too.  Eric Desjardins is one of the premier defensemen in the league, and he is supported by Chris Therien, Eric Weinrich, and the humongous Chris McAllister (6'8").  The Flyers acquired Jeremy Roenick in the offseason, adding a great center to replace Lindros.  The Flyers have not missed the playoffs since 1993; they were horrible between 1990 and 1993, missing the playoffs entirely during every season in that span.  Jiri Dopita, touted as the best player not in the NHL last season, made his debut with the Flyers this season.
