Finally,
a current player interview! Wade Belak is a physical stay-at-home
defenseman for the Calgary Flames. He was scratched for quite a bit
of games, but saw his fair share of action with 40 games last season. I sent to him at his home in
North Battleford, and he quickly filled out my questionnaire.
However, the cards I got back were signed with a crummy ballpoint pen, and
are barely even visible. Originally an Av, Wade was shipped off to
the Flames! Here is the first-ever current player interview on
Paul's Hockey Autograph Mania!

play hockey before being drafted? |

hockey idols growing up?
Belak: Wayne Gretzky. |

get on an average week during the season?
Belak: About 20 letters. |

moments in your hockey career?
Belak: Scoring my first NHL

- Was one of the players involved in the
blockbuster trade that sent Theo Fleury to Colorado late in the
1998-99 season.
- Has a younger brother, Graham Belak, who was selected in the 1997
Entry Draft with Colorado's second pick, 53rd overall in the 2nd
round. Graham played for the Kootenay Ice in 1999-00.
- Was a member of the Hershey Bears' 1996-97 Calder Cup-winning
championship team.
